Golden Diskó Ship - Ortolan

You could say that Theresa Stroetges is a musician, singer and multi-instrumentalist. One could also say much more accurately: She is a sound researcher. Because even if the songs that Threresa publishes under the name "Golden Diskó Ship" follow familiar patterns, they always fall out of the ordinary. The musician, who lives in Berlin, always succeeds in finding new sounds and putting familiar things into fresh contexts. On their new album "Aracea" you can recognize folk melodies, techno rhythms and pop hit refrains, but background noises and atonality hiss through the familiar sound ambience.

Happy birthday to Wayne Shorter - Ponta de Areia

The Native Dancer series is  special gift to the legendary Wayne Shorter on his 87th birthday, celebrated on August 25th.
Shorter recorded Native Dancer in 1974, soon after moving to California and it shows his love for Brazilian music; he decided to team up with iconic Brazilian singer #MiltonNascimento shortly after meeting him in Brazil circa 1972. Nascimento and his Brazilian friends, the maestro and pianist #WagnerTiso and the drummer #RobertinhoSilva, came to Los Angeles to record the album with Shorter, #AirtoMoreira, #DaveMcDaniel, #DavidAmaro, #JayGraydon, and #HerbieHancock.
