OMNIVERSAL EARKESTRA - Le Mali 70 Album out now

In 2019, the Berlin Omniversal Earkestra re-recorded with legends like Salif Keïta their old songs from the 70s . Eight young wind musicians had traveled to Mali from Germany. Usually, the jazz and classical musicians meet every Monday in changing Berlin underground clubs. "Le Mali 70" is the name of the album that the Munich-based Trikont label has just released on CD and vinyl, almost a year after the recordings in Mali.  #LeMali70 #OmniversalEarkestra

Liraz Charhi: An Israeli singer sings on Farsi

One could call it subversive diplomacy: For her new album "Zan", the Israeli Liraz Charhi has secretly collaborated with musicians from Iran. Iran and Israel have been hostile to each other for decades. Officially, there should be no contact between the two countries. But then there are people like Liraz Charhi who practice diplomacy in their very own way. On Youtube, Lariz Charhi meanwhile has a large fan base in Iran. Over and over again, Iranian fans upload videos on which they dance to their songs. And that, even though women in Iran are not allowed to dance in public.
