Les Amazones d'Afrique - Amazones Power

Les Amazones d’Afrique are a collective of musicians from African countries who fight for women's rights and collect money. "Amazones Power" is the name of their new album. Despite all these different voices, "Amazones Power" is actually an organic album, a collaborative effort in every respect. The legendary producer Doctor L worked on a sound that combines the permeability of contemporary electronica productions with the force of percussive, traditional folk music. The Amazones d’Afrique sometimes sing in unison to the sawtooth bass, sometimes a single voice raises the shining voice to lament or accuse. Again and again they remind their listeners: "Today is not a day to celebrate, we take it seriously": The lyrics of "Love" could be translated. "We women started to fight against genital mutilation."

DJ Diaki has released a new album “Balani Fou”

What a pace! Malian producer Diaki Kone, better known as DJ Diaki, has released “Balani Fou”, one of the most exciting, and also one of the fastest albums of the year. Kone lives in a small town south of Bamako. He is known there for regular appearances at the Balani shows, these open-air parties celebrated with sound systems. For the 10 tracks of his first album, he sampled and combined balafon sounds (a xylophone with suspended calabashes), synthesizer and drum sounds. The result is a high-energy album that occasionally recalls jungle sounds.
