La Yegros - Linda La Cumbia (Official Video)

The singer La Yegros grew up in the province of Misiones in northeastern Argentina. An area between Brazil and Paraguay, which has developed its own culture and at the same time taken up rhythms from all directions. So La Yegros was not only influenced by the Cumbia, but also by the Chamamé - a mixture of polka and Guarani music and the religious Carnavalito dance. Later she mixed cumbia beats and folk from the Andes with urban and electronic influences and is now called "The Queen of Nu Cumbia".

Romare - All Night (Live Session 1)

The African-American artist Romare Bearden (1911-1988) was interested in jazz and folk during his lifetime. He is best known for his cut-up collages - so it is not surprising that the London-based experimental producer Archie Fairhurst chose Bearden's first name as his artist alias. Since releasing his debut album "Projections" on the breakbeat label Ninja Tune in 2015, he has been successful as "Romare", musically examining the processes of cultural appropriation. This does not stop him from making use of the large pool of disco, soul and spirituals.
