DJ Diaki has released a new album “Balani Fou”

What a pace! Malian producer Diaki Kone, better known as DJ Diaki, has released “Balani Fou”, one of the most exciting, and also one of the fastest albums of the year. Kone lives in a small town south of Bamako. He is known there for regular appearances at the Balani shows, these open-air parties celebrated with sound systems. For the 10 tracks of his first album, he sampled and combined balafon sounds (a xylophone with suspended calabashes), synthesizer and drum sounds. The result is a high-energy album that occasionally recalls jungle sounds.
